In an outstanding academic dissemination initiative, the María Cano University Foundation held a meeting to promote its undergraduate and graduate programs in the municipality of Urrao, located in the southwestern subregion of the department of Antioquia. The meeting was attended by the town’s Secretary of Education, Liliana Marcela Garcés, the teacher of the Speech Therapy program in Medellín, Diana Marcela Betancourt García, and the coordinator of the Nutrition and Diet program in the capital of Antioquia, Gildardo Uribe Gil.

The institutional relationship activity was carried out at the facilities of the Secretary of Education of the municipality of Urrao, where the representatives of María Cano presented the competitive advantages of the academic programs, the commitment to quality, self-evaluation and the constant measurement of indicators, as well as the practical approach, the relevance in the workplace and the work carried out by the graduates of the Institution. The host official expressed her support for the initiative and highlighted the importance of higher education in strengthening the health system and the quality of life of citizens, while expressing her satisfaction at having the support of a renowned higher education institution with 36 years of experience in the training of professionals and specialists in different regions of the country.

The leaders of the Speech-Language Pathology and Nutrition and Dietetics programs highlighted the relevance of health training for care and for the community, as well as the need to have authorities who care about addressing public health challenges in the community and among the country’s youth.

The María Cano University Foundation thanks the authorities of Urrao for their welcome and their commitment to academic training of excellence; With this promotion initiative, the Institution reaffirms its commitment to educational development and its contribution to the social and economic progress of the different regions.
