Visit to the municipality of Yolombó in Antioquia

The management of the Language Center of the María Cano University Foundation was present in the northeast of the department to lead a meeting with the mayor of the municipality of Yolombó, Jesús Amador Pérez Palacio, with the aim of validating the way in which alliances could be formulated strategic that allow the growth, visibility and projection of the English language for the comprehensive training of the inhabitants of the municipality; always framed in the relationship between the academy and the State, which is essential to accompany the training of the inhabitants, through proposals that respond to the true needs of the community.
During the work day, the local leader requested the support of the María Cano University Foundation with the objective of building the municipal bilingualism policy, so that it can positively impact the lives of teachers, students, businessmen and families of the community, which would contribute to this population, which is located 108 kilometers from the city of Medellín and has an area of 941 square kilometers; have more access to education in a second language.
Present at the activity were the mayor Jesús Amador Pérez Palacio, the secretary of education Sandra Bibiana Pérez Saldarriaga, the director of the María Cano Language Center, Esteban Maldonado Cuartas and the teacher Elizabeth Cristina Salamanca Campiño. In this way, the doors are opened to the construction of this bilingualism policy for social projection and coverage, while strengthening the education of community members.
