Voice Alterations Reveal New Findings in Patients with Parkinson’s Disease
- 24 marzo, 2026
Parkinson’s disease is commonly associated with motor symptoms such as tremors and movement difficulties; however, it can also significantly affect the voice, impacting communication and quality of life.
In this context, researchers conducted a study aimed at analyzing vocal alterations in individuals with Parkinson’s through a comprehensive approach, addressing a less visible but essential dimension of the disease.
The study included the analysis of the voices of 42 individuals diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, using a multidimensional approach that combined acoustic analysis, perceptual evaluation by specialists, and patients’ self-perception, allowing for a broader understanding of the phenomenon.
The results showed that vocal alterations are present across different stages of the disease. However, no statistically significant differences were found between stages, suggesting that these changes may appear even in the early phases.
These findings highlight the importance of incorporating voice assessment into diagnostic and monitoring processes for people with Parkinson’s disease, as well as the need to continue strengthening research with larger samples and more comprehensive methodologies.
This type of research contributes to the development of more effective evaluation and rehabilitation strategies, ultimately improving patients’ quality of life and advancing knowledge in the health field.
