The María Cano University Foundation at the Neiva headquarters is involved in activities led by the Mayor’s Office of the capital of the department of Huila through its secretariats to work for the well-being of the community in this important region of Colombia. On this occasion, the Institution was invited to participate in the work table with the Youth Secretariat, chaired by the representative of the students of the department’s Higher Education Institutions, Oscar Fernando Ramírez, president of the departmental youth platform, who At the same time, it links different youth actors who are part of the universities of the region.

The work table allowed the connection of the thirteen semester representatives of the Phonoaudiology and Physiotherapy programs, designing proposals to work for the benefit and greater opportunities for students and young people in the city of Neiva in terms of education, such as financial relief, credits forgivable, scholarships, subsidies, among other benefits. Some situations that affect the health of young people were also discussed in terms of high accident rates, consumption of psychoactive substances and cases that affect the mental health of this population, which is vital and fundamental for the future of Colombia, which María Cano supports and endorses through higher education.

The María Cano University Foundation works for youth, for the community, for children and for all people who have new opportunities for progress, development and better living conditions through academic training.
