The Neiva headquarters was invited by the Government of the department of Huila, to the launch of the Health at Home Program «Huila grows with you», a strategy that seeks to promote the culture of health self-care in family and community settings and strengthen the commitment of citizens in the adoption of habits and lifestyles that allow them to guarantee their own well-being and care. The work seeks to articulate efforts, resources, human talent, to achieve the empowerment of citizens around social participation to identify and mitigate individual and collective risks that affect health and for this, they seek to intervene risk scenarios directly in each of the municipalities, under the leadership of the mayors, local health directors, the service provider network and will be supported through multidisciplinary teams made up of professionals who will guide all actions to provide comprehensive health care.

Primary health care allows a health model to be put into practice according to the needs of families and the community, providing services in promotion, prevention, activation of comprehensive care routes, treatments and care in their own territory.

The participation of the María Cano University Foundation as a higher education institution of the department is fundamental, to articulate actions in primary health care from its Physiotherapy and Phonoaudiology programs and to continue achieving recognition of these professions in the health area.
