We prepare for a new year in person
- 16 diciembre, 2021

Dear University Community:
The María Cano University Foundation, since March 2020, has reviewed and evaluated each of the possibilities framed in the guidelines and conditions provided by the National Government to prevent the contagion and spread of covid-19 in all its estates; This is how measures have been taken related to isolation, remote work, suspension of face-to-face activities, alternation, biosafety and immunization protocols. All decisions have been illuminated by the health care of each of the members of the university community, as well as the execution of academic activities with the quality criteria that characterize us.
Now we have new possibilities, framed in the advancement of the national vaccination plan, which allows us to pass on the good news of being able to return to one hundred percent face-to-face activities. We have prepared ourselves as an Institution for the full and safe return of all and we invite each one to do the same in order to guarantee the adequate and harmonious development of the classes and, in general, the academic activities in our Institution.
This full return will take place in all of our undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs at the Medellín, Cali, Neiva and Popayán campuses, starting in the first semester of 2022, in accordance with the dates established in the approved academic calendar and that can be consulted by each of you in the link available on the web portal: https://20.232.9.141/documentos/normatividadinst/903_calendario_academico_2022.pdf
The María Cano University Foundation joins the call made by the World Health Organization to go to the vaccination points and access the doses of the different pharmaceutical houses, as the safest means to fight against the virus and the different variants that have been detected in recent months. Likewise, it invites us to continue with self-care and protection measures, hoping that the lessons learned at this time will allow us to reflect more on respect for others, the duties and rights that we have as citizens of the world.
With the support and guidance of our Institutional Wellbeing and Occupational Health and Safety teams, we will continue to ensure the use of masks, prudent distancing, hand washing and disinfection of spaces. We will also work with the different institutional subsystems to guarantee a total, safe and happy return to higher education.
