From Knowledge to Science: María Cano Graduates Present Their Research at an International Event
- 4 noviembre, 2026
Research tells stories of commitment, knowledge, and professional growth. Ansary Paola Yucuma and Jarina Manuela Virgüez, graduates of the Speech-Language Pathology program at Fundación Universitaria María Cano, Neiva campus, exemplify this commitment. They represented the Institution at the 11th National and 8th International Research Meeting in Speech-Language Pathology 2026, an academic forum for scientific exchange and the presentation of advances in the field.

During the event, the graduates presented their paper, “Oral Sensory Alterations Associated with Dysphagia in an Older Adult: A Case Report.” Their research shares relevant findings on speech-language pathology assessment and intervention in older adults, contributing to the discussion of factors associated with oral sensory alterations and their relationship with swallowing processes.
The project was supervised by speech-language pathologist Jenny Paola Ojeda, whose guidance supported the academic and scientific development of the research.

Ansary and Jarina’s participation in this national and international event reflects María Cano’s commitment to knowledge generation, academic excellence, and the professional development of its graduates. Their experience shows how learning extends beyond the classroom, becoming research, scientific contributions, and new opportunities to advance the profession.
