Fundación Universitaria María Cano’s Neiva campus hosted the International Congress on Comprehensive Health and Well-Being, led by campus director Diana María Salazar Rojas and Professor Doly Mildred Plazas Quintero. The event provided an academic and scientific platform for professional development, critical reflection, and collaborative knowledge-building focused on health promotion, disease prevention, and comprehensive rehabilitation. It brought together 462 attendees, including students, faculty members, researchers, and healthcare professionals, fostering interdisciplinary exchange. The congress also featured distinguished speakers from Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, and Bolivia, who shared experiences, research findings, and advances relevant to the healthcare sector.

Throughout the academic sessions, participants explored research, practical experiences, and innovative approaches related to the physical, functional, communicative, and social well-being of individuals and communities. Discussions encouraged knowledge-sharing among professionals from different disciplines, addressing emerging trends, scientific advances, and best practices in health promotion, disease prevention, and comprehensive rehabilitation. The role of technological innovation was also highlighted as a valuable tool for the prevention, assessment, and treatment of functional impairments in diverse settings.
The program was organized around five thematic areas, addressing health from a comprehensive and interdisciplinary perspective. These discussions also strengthened opportunities for collaboration among higher education institutions, research centers, and healthcare organizations.
Through initiatives such as this congress, Fundación Universitaria María Cano continues to promote research, the education of highly qualified professionals, and academic spaces that contribute to the development and transformation of healthcare at the regional, national, and international levels.
