Alejandra Úsuga is a 2013 graduate of the María Cano University Foundation at the Cali campus. She began working as a physiotherapist in the same year in the Urabá region in the department of Antioquia, in a CAF called Vital Health, where she was employed for a period of time. year and a half. Then, at the end of 2014, he began working in Medellín at the Bodytech gym as a physiotherapist and remained in this place until the beginning of 2018. During his time at that institution, he had the opportunity to learn a lot and collaborate with sports doctors, nutritionists and trainers. physical, in addition to his performance they gave him opportunities to continue learning and studying, which allowed him to take several courses that expanded his knowledge in proprioception, self-massage for myofascial release with Foam Roller, also administrative aspects, especially in the accreditation process .
After his work in this medical and sports club, he had the opportunity to carry out home therapies and collaborate with the mayor’s office of La Ceja, in the east of Antioquia, in a disability project, where he worked alongside doctors and psychologists training to caregivers of people with disabilities. As of 2019, the process of homologation of his degree in Spain began, which lasted two years. During this period, while waiting for homologation, he lived in France, with the initial idea of working in that country. During that time, he also made an effort to learn French, which is one of the requirements to obtain French approval with an advanced level of this language and pass an exam to demonstrate said level. In 2022, after facing several administrative processes and study time, he managed to start working as a physiotherapist in France, in hospitals, re-education centers and in the field of thermalism.
Alejandra assures that: «The María Cano University Foundation has played a fundamental role in my career as a physiotherapist. Firstly, thanks to the knowledge transmitted by the excellent teachers I had and secondly, to the love, support and learning I received of my classmates. I consider that, in terms of professional preparation, we emerge very competent in the world of work and Physiotherapy, being recognized as a discipline in Europe, is comparable, which allows us to expand our job opportunities abroad.»
