María Cano Strengthens International Alliance with the University of Málaga
- 29 julio, 2025

With the goal of enhancing internationalization processes that benefit students, faculty, researchers, and alumni, the Fundación Universitaria María Cano held a key virtual meeting to strengthen its academic relationship with the University of Málaga (Spain). Representing the institution were Diana María Salazar Rojas, Director of the Neiva Campus; Leda Margarita Rosales Martínez, Head of Internationalization and Alumni Relations; as well as faculty members involved in academic activities in the capital of Huila. From the partner institution, Pilar Moreno Jiménez, Vice Dean of Students, Mobility, Cultural Activities, Equality, and Diversity at the Faculty of Psychology, joined the meeting.
During the session, the scope, commitments, and opportunities of the existing agreement between the two institutions were reaffirmed. The agreement includes student exchanges for academic semesters and faculty mobility for the development of mirror classes, lectures, seminars, and joint teaching and research projects.
Internationalization in higher education has become a key strategy for broadening academic horizons, improving educational quality, and promoting a global perspective within university communities. Through agreements like this, access to intercultural experiences is facilitated, and the training of professionals with global competencies—ready to face the challenges of an interconnected world—is promoted.
Furthermore, alliances such as the one established with the University of Málaga strengthen institutional positioning and foster the creation of scientific and cultural cooperation networks that enrich academic endeavors. These initiatives reflect María Cano’s commitment to innovative, inclusive education with international projection.
