From the Popayán campus of the María Cano University Foundation, we continue strengthening public-private partnerships that promote regional development and foster collaboration among academia, sports, and the community. On this occasion, important inter-institutional ties were consolidated with the Liga Caucana de Fútbol, led by its president, Mr. Fredy Gómez, with the purpose of generating joint strategies to enhance the comprehensive development of Cauca’s athletes and María Cano students.

These alliances with public entities, such as the Liga Caucana de Fútbol, are essential to boosting the social impact of higher education, allowing efforts to be combined around the strengthening of human talent, sports management, and the promotion of sports and physical activity in the region. Likewise, they open opportunities for applied research, innovation in sports science, and the implementation of projects with a social responsibility approach that contribute to the well-being and sustainable development of Cauca.
