- 20 octubre, 2025

The Fundación Universitaria María Cano, Cali campus, continues to strengthen its international ties through academic exchanges that promote the sharing of knowledge and cultures. On this occasion, the institution held an enriching academic encounter with the Universidad Santo Tomás de Chile, offering students and professors a space to share experiences related to gastronomy, dialects, tourist destinations, and traditions of both countries, fostering cultural integration.
The event was led by professors Jefferson Andrés Oviedo Gómez, from Fundación Universitaria María Cano, and Néstor Eduardo Jofré Hermosillo, from Universidad Santo Tomás de Chile. The academic session focused on the topic “Energy Systems in the Human Body and VO₂ Assessment”, providing an engaging and informative space to explore key physiological processes linked to physical activity and health.
Participants deepened their understanding of the different energy systems activated during exercise and physical activity. They also explored the importance of VO₂ assessment as a key indicator for evaluating physical fitness and sports performance. These insights were applied to analyzing human performance in contexts such as health, sports, and wellness, highlighting the relevance of science in everyday life.
This exchange stood out not only for its academic depth but also for its collaborative and intercultural spirit, reaffirming Fundación Universitaria María Cano’s commitment to quality education without borders, comprehensive training, and international outreach. It was a valuable opportunity to promote global education and meaningful connections between institutions.
