María Cano celebrates psychology day with a dialogue on workplace well-being

Fundación Universitaria María Cano celebrated Psychology Day with the academic event “Psychology in Workplace Contexts,” a conversation aligned with two significant dates for the university community: November 20, Colombia’s Psychology Day, and November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Both commemorations encouraged reflection on the ethical, scientific, and social contributions of psychology across the many settings in which the discipline intervenes.
The event served as a space for critical dialogue, highlighting the need to understand structural inequalities, gender-based violence, and the responsibility that educational institutions have in fostering safe, equitable, and discrimination-free environments. Participants were invited to explore the psychologist’s role in addressing these contemporary challenges.
Throughout the discussion, professionals and attendees shared perspectives from various branches of psychology — including sports, organizational, clinical, and social fields — generating a multidisciplinary conversation about workplace dynamics and their direct relationship with dignity, well-being, and human rights. These exchanges enriched the collective understanding of current issues affecting mental health and labor environments.
