The second edition of the 2025 University Games yielded great achievements for the María Cano University Foundation, which proudly celebrated the outstanding participation of its students from the Physiotherapy and Speech Therapy programs. The athletes established themselves as key players in the competition thanks to their talent, discipline, and competitive spirit.

The men’s volleyball team won the championship title after a hard-fought match against the Universidad Surcolombiana, defeating them 2-1, making it one of the most notable victories of the day.

Along the same lines, the men’s beach volleyball team also won the championship after defeating Corporación Universitaria Corhuila 2-0, thus consolidating an impeccable performance in the competition.

The women’s 3×3 basketball team earned a commendable second place, demonstrating solidity, strategy, and a high level of competition throughout the tournament. Meanwhile, the women’s volleyball team secured third place after an intense match against Universidad Antonio Nariño, which ended 2-1.

In women’s beach volleyball, María Cano University fielded two teams that achieved outstanding results: one team earned second place after a close match against Universidad Navarra, losing 2-1; while the other team secured third place with a decisive 2-0 victory over Universidad Surcolombiana. Finally, both the women’s and men’s futsal teams finished in third place, establishing themselves among the tournament’s best.

These results reflect the commitment of the María Cano University Foundation to the athletic and educational development of its students, who upheld the name of the institution in a competition that brought together university delegations from all over the country.
