Graduates of the Physical Activity and Sport program at Fundación Universitaria María Cano transform their environment through the development of competencies to:

Manage sports practice in its various modalities—conventional, alternative, and adapted (parasport)—considering individual and community characteristics and contextual factors; as well as the different stages of sport, from initiation and sports training to competitive performance, achievement of sporting goals, and high performance.

Define strategies and programs to promote physical activity, optimizing physical fitness and preventing chronic non-communicable conditions.

Contribute as managers in the public and private sectors by promoting community participation and development through plans and programs for the promotion of physical activity and sport, with a differential and territorial approach.

Integrate new technologies and innovation in physical activity and sport as tools for interpretation and analysis, promoting the optimization of physical and sports practice, as well as data analytics, with the capacity to generate new knowledge.

Manage the organization of sports events that promote socioeconomic development at national and international levels.
Occupational profile
Graduates of the Physical Activity and Sport program may work in governmental and non-governmental institutions, through the planning, implementation, monitoring, and control of sports practice in its various modalities, as well as in the definition of strategies and programs for the promotion of physical activity and sports management, performing the following roles:
- Leadership roles in public and private entities.
- Manager of physical activity and sport programs and projects.
- Design and direct physical activity programs for vulnerable populations.
- Participate in the modification, development, and implementation of public policies.
- Advise public and private companies in the implementation of projects.
- Manage sports programs that incorporate new technologies to improve quality of life across different populations.
- Develop sports training plans.
- Participate in research projects.
Admission Requirements Undergraduate Programs
Admission requirements New In-person and Virtual Undergraduate Applicant
To enter any of the undergraduate programs offered by María Cano, the new applicant must complete the following procedure:
- Fill out the online registration form
- Make the payment of undergraduate registration fees $148.921
- At the end of the registration form, upload to the platform the following documents one by one (in PDF format) as indicated at the end:
- Photocopy of the high school degree certificate or diploma, if you have not yet completed grade 11, original study certificate, issued by the school valid for no more than one month.
- Results of the ICFES tests (Saber 11), if you do not have the results you can attach the citation to the test.
- A legible photocopy of the identity document (enlarged).
- A 3×4 size photo, light blue background.
- Documents are not received physically unless required during the admission process.
- Print the registration payment form at the end of online registration or make payment through PSE.
