- 16 marzo, 2026
As part of the International Women’s Month celebration, Practicum I students from the Physiotherapy program at Fundación Universitaria María Cano, Popayán campus, organized a recreational and integration activity with older adults from the municipality, promoting spaces for well-being and community participation.
The activity took place within the community outreach setting, where students organized a gathering that included recreational dynamics and intervention strategies aimed at supporting the physical and emotional well-being of the participants. These activities helped strengthen social interaction and created moments of joy and companionship for the older adults.
During the event, the future physiotherapists shared various activities designed to encourage movement, recreation, and social interaction, contributing to the promotion of healthy habits and the improvement of quality of life for this population.

The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Municipal Government of Popayán, within the framework of an interinstitutional agreement that strengthens the connection between academia and the community, allowing students to apply their knowledge in real-life contexts.
Through initiatives like this, Fundación Universitaria María Cano reaffirms its commitment to social outreach and comprehensive education, promoting learning experiences that positively impact communities while enriching students’ academic development.
