- 6 abril, 2026
Fundación Universitaria María Cano announces the opening of the 18th cohort of its Audiology Specialization, one of its most established graduate programs, offered in a face-to-face modality in Medellín with a duration of two semesters. This academic program is designed to develop a dynamic body of knowledge related to hearing and its impact on people’s quality of life, training specialists with procedural, ethical, and research competencies for the comprehensive approach to hearing health throughout the life course.
The specialization is exclusively aimed at Speech-Language Pathologists, who will strengthen their professional profile as experts in human hearing, with the ability to intervene in health promotion, prevention, detection, evaluation, diagnosis, and rehabilitation processes, as well as in consultancy and interdisciplinary research. The Audiology Specialist is characterized by critical thinking, innovation capacity, social commitment, and a global vision, contributing to the transformation of communities and organizations through the application of scientific and technological advances in the field.
In terms of professional performance, graduates will be able to work across different sectors such as healthcare, industry, and community settings, carrying out auditory evaluations at both peripheral and central levels, as well as rehabilitation processes including hearing aids, amplification systems, cochlear implants, aural rehabilitation, and vestibular therapy. They will also be able to lead educational processes focused on hearing conservation, design programs for the detection of auditory disorders, support inclusive educational environments, and teach at undergraduate and graduate levels. In the field of prevention, they will be equipped to design and implement programs aimed at reducing the risk of hearing loss across various sectors.
Additionally, graduates will develop competencies in the administration and management of specialized audiology services, strengthening their role as comprehensive professionals in the scientific and healthcare fields. With the opening of this new cohort, Fundación Universitaria María Cano reaffirms its commitment to training highly qualified professionals, promoting hearing health, and contributing to the well-being of the population, consolidating its position as a reference in higher education in this field.
