Fundación Universitaria María Cano, Neiva campus, welcomed Dr. Justo Germán Olaya Ramírez, guest professor from the Medicine program at Universidad Surcolombiana, recognized for his extensive experience in General Surgery, Mastology (Breast Surgery), and soft tissue management. His academic participation was aimed at strengthening the knowledge of first-semester students from the Physiotherapy and Speech Therapy programs.

The academic session was held within the framework of the Morphophysiology I course, where the specialist addressed fundamental concepts related to cells, histology, and genetics, integrating theoretical explanations, clinical analyses, and professional experiences that allowed students to better understand the relationship between biological processes and different health conditions.

Likewise, the session provided students with early exposure to real clinical contexts, strengthening competencies related to critical thinking, the interpretation of physiological processes, and the interdisciplinary understanding of basic sciences applied to professional practice.

These types of academic spaces enrich students’ educational experiences by promoting the exchange of knowledge between institutions and strengthening the connection between theory, research, and clinical practice.
