The María Cano Reaffirms Its Commitment to Downtown Medellín and to Building a Better City
- 4 junio, 2026
The María Cano University Foundation continues to strengthen its commitment to the cultural, social, and community development of Medellín. Within the framework of the General Assembly of Caminá Pa’l Centro, held at Puerto Club Comfenalco La Playa, our institution reaffirmed its participation in this important civic alliance, reiterating its willingness to continue contributing to the collective development of the city center.
The event, which is part of the 10th anniversary celebration of Caminá Pa’l Centro, brought together institutions, organizations, and stakeholders committed to promoting culture, civic participation, and community engagement with the territory. During the gathering, participants shared the progress and initiatives of the strategy, while also beginning preparations for the 24th edition of Caminá Pa’l Centro, scheduled to take place in November 2026.

Representing the María Cano University Foundation were Paola Rueda, Vice President for Extension and Social Outreach, and Alejandro Bedoya, Coordinator of Sports and Culture, who reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to remaining an active member of this collaborative network through the signing of the commitment agreement.
This alliance strengthens María Cano’s vision as an institution open to the city, one that promotes culture as a driver of social transformation and seeks to consolidate its spaces as meeting points for artists, cultural managers, citizen collectives, and organizations working toward a more participatory, inclusive, and diverse Medellín.
From the University of Well-Being, we will continue creating alliances and opportunities so that art, culture, sports, and community participation can find spaces for visibility and growth, contributing to the construction of a more humane city connected to its communities.
Because we believe in the power of culture to transform realities, we will continue walking alongside Downtown Medellín, building community and generating new opportunities for everyone.
