Intermediate Technician in Payment and Collection Operations – Level 4

General Overview

The Intermediate Technical Program in Payment and Collection Operations – Level 4 at María Cano University Foundation is designed to train individuals with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to support collection and payment processes, customer service, cash handling, and the processing of financial transactions.

The program prepares students to perform activities related to financial products and services, transaction reconciliation, resource management, financial customer advisory services, and the use of technological tools applied to payment and collection processes.

Program Duration and Structure

  • Total duration: 2,400 hours, equivalent to 50 academic credits, distributed over three semesters.
  • Classroom instruction: 1,920 hours.
  • Practical training: 480 hours.
  • Total: 50 academic credits.

Upon successful completion of all program requirements, María Cano University Foundation will award the certificate:

This program belongs to the Subsystem for Workforce Training (SFT) and is not a higher education program registered under the Colombian SNIES (National Higher Education Information System).

Program Authorization

This program is authorized by the Ministry of Labor of Colombia for delivery within the Subsystem for Workforce Training, in accordance with Decree 1650 of 2021 and Resolution 447 of 2022.

Inspection, oversight, and monitoring of the program are the responsibility of the Ministry of Labor, within the framework of the Subsystem for Workforce Training.

Investment 2026: $931,911 per semester

Occupational Profile

Graduates will be qualified to work in the financial, business, commercial, and service sectors, performing functions related to cash operations, customer service, commercial advisory, payment processing, collections, transaction reconciliation, and operational support in financial services.

Graduates will be able to perform activities such as:

  • Collecting and disbursing cash and/or checks for financial products and services.
  • Providing general information on financial products and services.
  • Balancing cash drawers, cash, checks, securities, and corporate agreements.
  • Supporting transaction reconciliation and clearing processes.
  • Selling financial products and services.
  • Using technological tools associated with payment and collection systems.

Admission and Enrollment Requirements

To enroll in the program, applicants must meet the academic and documentary requirements established for the program offering:

  • Minimum age: 16 years old.
  • Proof of completion of compulsory lower secondary education.
  • Submission of a certificate demonstrating successful completion of Grade 9.
  • Submission of a valid identification document.
  • To obtain the Level 4 certification, applicants must provide proof of a high school diploma.
  • Complete the online application form and upload the required documents in PDF format, following the admissions guidelines.
  • Applicants under the age of 18 must complete the admission process with a parent or legal guardian and submit a copy of the guardian’s identification document, when applicable.

Note: Technical academic programs may include Saturday classes.
