The technological development and the constant changes to which human beings are daily subdued to many risk factors that spoil our auditory capacity and in consequence our way of interacting with our environment.
In this respect, The Audiology Specialization at Maria Cano University seeks to train specialists, who contribute to promote a well-being auditory, the prevention of auditory pathologies. This innovative specialist can establish evaluation processes, diagnose and prevention, taking into account the latest scientific and technological advances inside this field.

His/her actions are focused on the promotion of auditory-communicative health; prevention and detection of hearing loss, evaluation, diagnosis and rehabilitation of hearing, consulting, and disciplinary and interdisciplinary research in the field, having as a fundamental basis the scientific and technological advances that support his/her work. The Audiology Specialist will be able to work in the different fields of health, industry, and the community, performing activities of:
Evaluation
Diagnosis of hearing at peripheral and central levels, through the administration and interpretation of behavioral, electroacoustic, and electrophysiological tests.
Rehabilitation
The audiologist’s academic preparation and qualified clinical experience allow him/her to provide a wide range of rehabilitation services to patients of all ages, such as:
- Hearing aids and amplification systems
- Cochlear implant
- Aural rehabilitation
- Vestibular therapy and measurement of vestibular status
Education
- Design programs for hearing conservation and/or detection of hearing disorders.
- Participate in the assembly of rehabilitation plans and in the conditioning of school spaces for children with hearing disorders in educational institutions.
- Guide processes tending to the management of children with hearing disorders in the classroom.
- Works as a teacher in the field of audiology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Prevention
The audiologist designs, implements and coordinates hearing conservation programs in all economic and social sectors, in order to prevent hearing loss that may occur due to different causes.
Administration
Administers and manages services and programs of a scientific nature in audiology.

Admission requirements New In-person and Virtual Undergraduate Applicant
To enter any of the undergraduate programs offered by María Cano, the new applicant must complete the following procedure:
- Fill out the online registration form
- Make the payment of undergraduate registration fees $213.022
- At the end of the registration form, upload to the platform the following documents one by one (in PDF format) as indicated at the end:
- Photocopy of the high school degree certificate or diploma, if you have not yet completed grade 11, original study certificate, issued by the school valid for no more than one month.
- Results of the ICFES tests (Saber 11), if you do not have the results you can attach the citation to the test.
- A legible photocopy of the identity document (enlarged).
- A 3×4 size photo, light blue background.
- Documents are not received physically unless required during the admission process.
- Print the registration payment form at the end of online registration or make payment through PSE.
