On World Parkinson’s Day, our Occupational Therapy and Speech-Language Pathology programs at the Medellín campus participated in the Parkinson’s Rehabilitation Therapies Symposium organized by the FUNDALIANZA foundation and the Neurociences Group of Antioquia (GNA). The symposium featured the conference «Safe Strategies and Practices in Nutrition for Parkinson’s Patients,» presented by Professor María Isabel Mazo from the Speech-Language Pathology program, and the conference «Technology and Occupational Therapy: Innovations for Supporting Daily Life Activities in Parkinson’s,» delivered by the coordinator of the Occupational Therapy program, Angélica Alarcón García.
La María Cano participates and is a regional leader in the comprehensive support processes and improvement of the quality of life for people with Parkinson’s. The event was attended by approximately 200 people, including professors, students, patients, caregivers, and family members of people with Parkinson’s, which allowed for meaningful and shared dialogue during the event.
