From the coordination of the headquarters, led by academic Angélica María Zuluaga Calle, and the coordination of the Nutrition and Dietetics program of the Popayán headquarters, a meeting was held with Mr. Daniel Vélez, member of the United Nations Organization for Nutrition. Food and Agriculture – FAO, whose main objective was to establish a solid articulation between both institutions, focusing especially on the Nutrition and Dietetics program that begins in the capital of Cauca and has an outstanding projection at the national level. It seeks to collaborate in various activities and research that contribute, in a significant way, to the nutrition component, food and nutritional security, as well as the human right of all communities to adequate food and nutrition.
This initiative represents a significant step towards the synergy between the María Cano University Foundation and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations – FAO, strengthening the capacity of both institutions to comprehensively address the challenges related to food and nutrition. nutrition. The collaboration promises to be fruitful in the generation of knowledge and actions that benefit both the academic community and society in general. The María Cano University Foundation is proud to participate in this association that seeks to improve the quality of life through the promotion of nutrition and food security.
