International Call for Papers on Artificial Intelligence and Voice Sciences

The Journal of Research and Innovation in Health Sciences (RIICS) has launched a new international call for papers for its special issue “Artificial Intelligence in Voice Sciences: Advances in Prevention, Diagnosis, Treatment, and Rehabilitation,” an edition aimed at bringing together high-quality research on the impact and applications of artificial intelligence in the field of voice and human communication.
The call is addressed to researchers in health sciences, engineering, data science, and related fields interested in contributing scientific evidence, technological developments, and clinical innovations related to vocal analysis, assessment, intervention, and rehabilitation through artificial intelligence tools.
Among the proposed thematic areas are vocal biomarkers for neurological and systemic diseases, deep learning models for voice signal processing, AI-based vocal rehabilitation systems, assistive technologies and augmentative communication, generative artificial intelligence applied to voice therapies, affective computing, as well as ethical, clinical, and implementation aspects in real-world contexts.
The journal will receive original research articles, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses from May 15, 2026, to January 31, 2027. Accepted manuscripts will be published under a continuous publication model in Vol. 9, No. 2 (2027), with open access and no article processing charges for authors.
This special issue will feature Lady Catherine Cantor Cutiva, Ph.D., professor and researcher at East Tennessee State University, and Carlos Manzano-Aquiahuatl, MD, MS, president of the Mexico Chapter of The Voice Foundation and the Latin American Society of Dysphagia, as guest editors. The issue will be under the editorial direction of Fraidy Alonso Alzate Pamplona, MSc, Editor-in-Chief of RIICS.
Through this call for papers, the journal reaffirms its commitment to research, innovation, and knowledge generation in emerging areas of health, promoting international academic spaces for the development of scientific and technological solutions that positively impact human communication and well-being.
