María Cano Participates in International Research Meeting in Cali
- 21 abril, 2026
Fundación Universitaria María Cano, Cali campus, took part in the Mesa Sur Pacífico International Research Meeting 2026, held on April 17 in the city of Cali, with the Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios (UNIMINUTO) serving as host institution.
The event, conducted in both in-person and virtual formats, brought together researchers from diverse backgrounds under the theme “An opportunity to engage in dialogue on Science, Technology, and Innovation”, fostering academic exchange and the strengthening of knowledge networks.
María Cano’s delegation was represented by the Fisioter research group, composed of faculty members María Fernanda Ortiz, Elizabeth Roldán, Julián Cerón, Nelson Andrade, Jorge Manrique, and Daniela Rotawisky, along with student researchers Javier Miller, Leidy Cuayal, and Alejandro Figueroa.

During the meeting, participants presented research projects addressing topics such as the use of digital technologies in clinical assessment and learning processes, predictive models for cardiovascular risk and joint degeneration, and systematic reviews focused on interventions for populations with disabilities.
Participation in this type of academic setting strengthens research competencies among faculty and students, encourages knowledge exchange, enables peer feedback, and expands the visibility of research beyond the local context.
For student research groups, these experiences represent valuable opportunities for academic and professional development, fostering direct engagement with both regional and international research communities.

The event, organized by the Mesa Sur Pacífico ACIET, included the 11th International Researchers Meeting and the 14th Regional Student Research Meeting, as well as sessions where primary and secondary school students presented their own research initiatives, complemented by conferences on research, technological development, innovation, and education.
Through its participation, Fundación Universitaria María Cano reaffirms its commitment to strengthening research, advancing knowledge generation, and engaging with academic networks that contribute to scientific and social development.
