María Cano Receives Academic Peer Review Visit for Public Health Program Accreditation Renewal
- 23 abril, 2026
As part of the quality assurance process for the renewal of the qualified registration of the Specialization in Public Health program, offered in both virtual and on-site modalities, Fundación Universitaria María Cano is receiving an academic peer review visit on April 23 and 24, assigned by the Ministry of National Education of Colombia.
The review panel is composed of Dr. Viviana Alexandra Cepeda, a physiotherapist with a master’s degree in Public Health and specializations in occupational health management and ergonomics, and Dr. Luis Alberto Gutiérrez Mejía, a business administrator with a master’s degree in Public Health and a Ph.D. in Administration, both with extensive experience in higher education, research, and academic management.
During the visit, meetings will be held with institutional leaders, faculty, students, alumni, and external stakeholders, along with on-site tours of academic facilities and training environments. These activities aim to assess institutional processes and verify the quality conditions of the program across its different locations and delivery formats.
This process represents a key opportunity to demonstrate the coherence, traceability, and continuous improvement of academic and administrative practices, in alignment with national higher education quality standards.
Fundación Universitaria María Cano warmly welcomes the academic peers and expresses its appreciation for their visit, which contributes to strengthening academic quality and advancing institutional excellence.
