Fundación Universitaria María Cano, Popayán Campus, through its Specialization in Public Health, continues to strengthen its commitment to social development, community participation, and the creation of healthier environments by consolidating strategic partnerships with social and community stakeholders across the Department of Cauca.

As part of this commitment, the institution held a working meeting with community leaders from Commune 7 in Popayán. This dialogue and collaborative planning space was designed to strengthen citizen participation processes and advance the organization of the Second National Congress on Community-Based Primary Health Care, an academic and social event aimed at promoting the exchange of knowledge, successful experiences, and innovative strategies for strengthening public health from a territorial perspective.

The meeting provided an opportunity to identify new avenues for collaboration between academia and local communities, recognizing the essential role of community leaders in promoting healthy lifestyles, preventing disease, and driving initiatives that contribute to collective well-being. Participants also established joint actions to ensure that the Congress becomes a platform where community experiences play a leading role in developing solutions to current public health challenges.
