Public Health Initiative Strengthens Dengue and Yellow Fever Prevention Among Students
- 21 abril, 2026
As part of health promotion and prevention efforts, Fundación Universitaria María Cano, Neiva campus, carried out a training session led by its public health area, in coordination with the Mayor’s Office of Neiva and with the support of Juan David López Coronado.
During this educational session, students strengthened their knowledge on the prevention of diseases such as dengue and yellow fever, identifying risk factors, control measures, and community-based intervention strategies aimed at reducing their spread.

The activity provided key tools for both individual and collective care, promoting the development of competencies that contribute to public health protection and reinforce the role of future professionals as agents of change within their communities.
This initiative is part of broader health campaigns carried out in collaboration with local institutions, creating learning environments that connect academic training with real community needs.
Through initiatives like this, Fundación Universitaria María Cano reaffirms its commitment to promoting healthy habits, preventing disease, and training professionals who are aware of their social responsibility in safeguarding life and collective well-being.
