General Presentation
Service management approaches the efficient and effective integration of human, physical and economic resources to achieve optimal delivery of health services. Management seeks to ensure that the resources available for the promotion, protection and restoration of health are applied considering current scientific knowledge on health and disease.

These strategies allow the articulation and harmonization of insurance, provision of health services and development of public health policies and programs according to the health situation of individuals, families, and communities, supported by cross-sectional social and political management processes, which must be applied to each of the specific population and territorial contexts, as well as having a differential approach.

In this context, the specialization in Health Services Management aims to train specialists undertaking actions to ensure the rational use of economic, human, technological and financial resources to provide a quality service that meets the expectations of the client (state, society). It ensures a superior organizational performance, which overcomes the uncertainty inherent to a dynamic and changing political environment, such as the context in Colombia.
