In order to continue strengthening the work led by the Language Center of the Popayán branch, the Institution signed an agreement with Codelcauca, a cooperative in southwestern Colombia that has coverage in the city of Popayán and the municipalities of Santander de Quilichao and El Bordo, which with its experience contributes to the economic and social well-being of its associates, timely offering contribution and credit products and services, with a competent and committed human team. This is how the Commercial Director of Codelcauca, Mónica Franco; the Head of the Marketing Office of the María Cano University Foundation, Juan David Castaño Villegas; and the support professional of the Language Center in the city of Popayán, Carolina Mosquera, met in order to propose strategies and initiate activities that strengthen the agreement, which will allow the cooperative’s associates to access the different training programs of the Language Center and that it continues to offer its services to the external public.

Coldecauca expresses in its institutional mission: «It is a Cooperative that with its experience contributes to the economic and social well-being of its associates, offering products and services of contribution and credit in a timely manner, with a competent and committed human team», and is focused on issues of : Solidarity to a fund that allows the associate to request economic aid to deal with situations of serious domestic calamity, maternity aid and funeral aid, thus fulfilling the objective of strengthening the bonds of solidarity and mutual aid. Social well-being carrying out activities that involve the associate and his family group in recreational, sports and cultural activities. And in education to access plans that allow access to better living conditions for the community.

The María Cano Language Center works for comprehensive training in achieving the different levels of competence in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for the teaching, learning and assessment of languages; promoting teaching and learning processes of English as a second language, through a communicative methodology adjusted to international standards, providing our students with training spaces with the highest quality.
