Research professors Boris Mauricio Revelo Rendón and Silvia Marcela Henao Villa from the María Cano Software Engineering and Cybersecurity Specialization program, belonging to the Grintec research group, participated in the Colombia World Security Summit – CWSS 2023 held in Plaza Mayor Medellín, between May 17 and 18, 2023. This event was focused on science, technology and innovation issues aimed at making solutions for the urban security of the city, the region and the country visible; based on four vertical axes: cybersecurity, security technology, data processing and artificial intelligence, and applied innovation.

The meeting sought to provide public and private entities from the different sectors of the security technology industry with the opportunity to network, learn about new trends, devices and innovation, hand in hand with national and international experts, through of a business and technological exhibition and a high-level academic program.

On the subject developed, the director in charge of the Software Engineering program, Silvia Henao, pointed out that «currently the trend is the digital transformation of organizations seeking to migrate information to the cloud, that is, taking businesses to the network, which that can represent great risks and vulnerabilities to cyber attacks and information theft, hence the importance of managing information security and cybersecurity».
