Presentation at the Research Seminar University of La Guajira

Professor José Nelson Andrés Andrade Bonilla, representing the María Cano University Foundation, had an outstanding participation as a speaker at the seminar «ICT and research: Current trends and challenges for training», coordinated by the Complexus research group and aimed at students of the Documentary Research-State of the Art course and students of the DIDACTIC and SEFI research incubators of the University of La Guajira. The presentation was entitled «Artificial Intelligence: A Powerful Tool for University Research»; the seminar took place virtually.
The seminar «ICT and research: Current trends and challenges for training» was an initiative of the Complexus research group, focused on providing students with an updated view of trends in the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the field of research. The event was attended by students from the Documentary Research course, State of the Art and from the DIDACTIC and SEFI research hotbeds.
In the presentation, an overview of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its relevance in the field of university research was presented. The professor explored different applications of AI in the collection, analysis and presentation of data, as well as in the automation of research processes. He also addressed the challenges and ethical considerations associated with the use of AI in research.
The audience was made up of students from the undergraduate program in ethno-education. During the activity, interaction and dialogue with the attendees was encouraged, who showed great interest and asked relevant questions on the subject. Participation in the seminar was very enriching for both the attendees and the participating researchers because the students demonstrated a high level of interest, while interesting discussions were generated about the applications and challenges of AI in university research. At the end of the presentation, the feedback from the attendees was collected, which was very positive, highlighting the clarity of the presentation and the relevance of the topic addressed.
