Meeting of health deans of the universities of Valle del Cauca

The third meeting of deans of the Health Faculties of the universities of Valle del Cauca was held at the María Cano University Foundation in Cali with the objective of advancing the work plan for the development of the «VIII Meeting of Universities 2023» and the formulation of a research project that allows determining the existing gaps between the training of human talent in health and the provision of health services; This project is under the advice of the departmental health secretary. At this technical table, inter-institutional alliances were established that will allow planning a meeting in which experiences in primary care can be shared from the perspective of each health profession.
This annual event is organized by the Ministry of Health of the capital of the Valley and the universities of the region to foster a space for collaboration between academia and the health sector, as well as promote interdisciplinarity between fields such as medicine, nursing, dentistry, bacteriology, psychology, physiotherapy, among others.
The meeting is scheduled for November 15, 16 and 17, with the central purpose of facilitating dialogue between institutional representatives committed to the training and professional practice of human talent in health, with the intention of guaranteeing the right to health and strengthen the role of universities in the interaction with health services in communities, with a focus on primary health care. On this occasion, there will be the participation of external speakers who will share valuable contributions on the challenges in the training of competent human talent for the sector that provides well-being to the entire community.
This space represents a unique opportunity for leaders of non-governmental organizations, undergraduate university students, health professionals, researchers and workers from institutions in the health sector, who will have the possibility of sharing the results of the research with the community in general. research or successful experiences related to management or primary health care in various contexts. The dissemination of this knowledge will undoubtedly contribute significantly to improving the quality of health services in the region.
