International Seminar at the Cali headquarters

The María Cano University Foundation, Cali headquarters, held the Second International Seminar on ICT-assisted Rehabilitation, virtually, with the aim of disseminating experiences, knowledge and good practices in the use of Information and Communication Technology in the field of rehabilitation. The event was attended by prominent experts, such as Jaime Aparicio, administrator of the University of California at Berkeley, founder and director of Cary de México; Esperanza Sastoque Hernández, Master in Biomedical Sciences from the Universidad del Valle; Efraín Pinto Brand, master in Industrial Engineering from the UNAD Colombia University; and Diana Mesa Sepúlveda, physiotherapist at the National Sports School, who presented the progress, challenges and opportunities that ICTs provide in the field of rehabilitation. These exhibitions were carried out from an interdisciplinary vision, emphasizing the person-centered approach.
The seminar was aimed at professionals, students, researchers, teachers, managers, users and family members interested in knowing and applying ICT in the rehabilitation process. Around 148 attendees were registered, of which 27% represented different national and international institutions. The seminar program included three presentations and a panel discussion that encouraged the exchange of opinions, cooperative learning and the generation of new challenges.
The event was a valuable opportunity to disseminate knowledge, promote innovation and share research related to ICT in the field of rehabilitation. Likewise, it contributed significantly to strengthening collaboration between the various actors involved in this area. The invited participants actively engaged in the seminar, generating substantial benefits for the rehabilitation community.
