On Tuesday, November 28 and Wednesday, November 29, the Language Center of the María Cano University Foundation receives a visit from the Icontec auditor, Beatriz Elena Marín López, with the aim of achieving the renewal of the certification of the NTC 5555 Standard and the NTC Standard 5580, which demonstrates the commitment to meeting all the goals set out in the 2017 – 2026 Development Plan “Building the Future”. The auditor Marín López is a civil engineer from the University of Medellín, a specialist in quality management from the EAFIT University, a specialist in environmental management from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and a master’s degree in quality and comprehensive management from the Universidad Santo Tomás.

During the work to be carried out, an agenda is scheduled focused on institutional direction, self-evaluation, monitoring, control, academic management, physical infrastructure, acquisition of goods and services, human talent, admission and enrollment in the different courses offered by the Language Center. to users.

The NTC 5555 Quality Management System certification for work training institutions establishes the requirements for a Quality Management System in Training Institutions for Work and Human Development (IFTDH) so that its effective implementation allows demonstrate the institution’s ability to offer educational services that satisfy the requirements of users, legal requirements and the requirements of the productive, economic and social environment. Certification with this standard allows us to give confidence in terms of image, prestige and the achievement of a differentiating factor with the competition that offers the same services, while facilitating access to new markets including possible benefits in contracting with the government. of training activities for work and human development, facilitating the marketing and decision-making of possible applicants for the programs offered. Finally, the investment that companies make in the training of their employees will be supported with a certification that ensures appropriate management in the provision of educational services.

For its part, NTC 5580 related to Work Training programs in the area of ​​Languages, guides on the quality requirements that must be met to develop communicative skills of understanding, expression, interaction and interpretation of texts or speeches. in its different forms, in accordance with the legislation in force in the Republic of Colombia.
