At the Medellín headquarters, the Faculty of Health Sciences, with the leadership of Professor Jhon Freddy Santos Gómez, advances the consolidation of the project: social participation in health of the elderly, the experience of the community, with impact on different sectors of this area of ​​the capital of Antioquia.

With the participation of the physiotherapy, psychology and speech therapy programs, we work on health promotion and disease prevention, which strengthen the social fabric and enable city narratives around aging, demolishing myths that affect the population and They affect the health and illness process of each of the participants, integrating elements related to the body, communication and the psychosocial well-being of the community.

The project has been in execution for two years, with the Association of Community Action Boards – Asocomunal 10 and in 2024 it enters its third period of execution, managing to impact around 900 members of the community in its trajectory, taking into account that the The short-term goal is to consolidate the inventory of capabilities of the elderly in the Prado neighborhood and extend the work to the San Diego Palmas neighborhood.
