United for the Center: Agreement of Will to Promote Coexistence and Culture in Comuna 10
- 8 noviembre, 2024

The Fundación Universitaria María Cano, the Management of the Center and Strategic Territories, and Corpocentro, through collaborative work, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the goal of creating the Feria Buenos Vecinos Alliance. This initiative aims to contribute to the improvement of the Center of Medellín, particularly Comuna 10, by implementing actions that will establish the area as a cultural and educational reference. These actions will involve the community, promoting a culture of collaboration and respect among its residents.
To this end, Rector Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras, the Manager of the Center and Strategic Territories, Juliana Coral Posada, and the Executive Director of Corpocentro, Jorge Mario Puerta, have agreed to sign this document. The agreement seeks to integrate these three entities to promote coexistence, the development of civic culture, joint cultural events, the implementation of security measures for the area, campaigns on the importance of caring for and protecting public spaces, support for local entrepreneurs through fairs and activities, and initiatives that foster a sense of belonging to Comuna 10, also known as La Candelaria, in the Center of Medellín.
These actions are part of the Institution’s efforts to improve and facilitate mobility and livability in the city center, where María Cano’s facilities are located. For over 36 years, the University has contributed to the development, culture, and educational progress of not only the municipality, but also the Valle de Aburrá region and surrounding municipalities.
