Internships certification

The agreements and partnerships established by the University with companies or organizations for the development of internships can be formalized through the following mechanisms:

Teaching–Service Agreement: Decree 780 of 2016: “It is the agreement of wills signed between the institutions participating in the teaching–service relationship, outlining the conditions, commitments, and responsibilities of each party, formalized in a document. When the internship site and the educational institution share ownership integration, there must be a document defining the guidelines of the teaching–service relationship, which will replace the agreement.”

Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement: This document establishes the framework for cooperation between institutions and includes the legal regulations for the development of internships, with the objective of complying with the commitments made by the parties.

Apprenticeship Contract: Law 2466 of 2025: “The apprenticeship contract is a special fixed-term employment contract governed by the substantive rules of the Labor Code, through which a natural person develops theoretical and practical training in an authorized institution, in exchange for a sponsoring company providing the means to acquire the systematic and comprehensive professional training required for a trade, activity, occupation, or profession. This involves performing administrative, operational, commercial, or financial duties related to the company’s regular activities for a specific period not exceeding three (3) years, during which the apprentice receives a monthly maintenance allowance.

For university students, the monthly maintenance allowance may not be less than the equivalent of the current legal minimum wage. The apprentice shall be affiliated with occupational risk insurance and the comprehensive social security system in pensions and health, in accordance with the regulations for dependent workers, and shall be entitled to the recognition and payment of all benefits, allowances, and other rights inherent to the employment contract.”.
