Within the framework of the research called “Design and construction of high functional complexity apparel, technical proposal and construction of new garments for high sports performance”, the first two invention patents were obtained with the products sports suit and sports glove for gymnasts; as part of the academic link between researchers Fanny Valencia Legarda of the Fisioter group, categorized A in the last call of Colciencias; and Fausto Alonso Zuleta Montoya of the Costume Design and Textiles research group of the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana.

The alliance that now bears fruit, with high-level production, in accordance with the quality standards established by Colciencias, began in 2013 and has allowed the linking of various disciplines such as physiotherapy, costume design and industrial design, in order to generate technological developments that are at the service of society.

The patents will allow analyzing the commercialization of both products, which would become a response to the needs of the population that seeks to optimize performance and improve the performance in practice of different disciplines; while improving the indicators of scientific production in María Cano and contributing directly to the economic development of the country.
