La María Cano shines at the Night of Excellence 2024

The Fundación Universitaria María Cano was awarded two distinctions at the “Night of Excellence 2024,” an event organized by the Ministry of National Education to honor those in the education sector who have stood out for their effort, work, dedication, leadership, and best practices over the past year. La María Cano received the “Manuel Zapata Olivella” Order for the Accreditation of the Speech Therapy program at the Medellín campus and the program physiotherapy at the Neiva campus.
This ceremony, presided over by the Minister of National Education, Daniel Rojas Medellín, accompanied by his team, recognized and awarded Higher Education Institutions and Students who, through their work, contribute to the educational revolution the country seeks to become a global leader in education.
The event took place at the National University of Colombia, Bogotá campus, where more than 220 awards were presented in 22 categories. Our rector, Hugo Alberto Valencia Porras, and our academic vice-rector, Amilbia Palacios Córdoba, along with the coordinator of the Neiva campus, Diana María Salazar Rojas, received these two awards recognizing and highlighting the work done in the Speech Therapy programs in Medellín and the Physiotherapy program at the Neiva campus. These recognitions validate the daily work and commitment of La María Cano to higher education and to providing quality education to the populations where it is present, making a significant contribution to Colombian society through educational transformation.
