Fundación Universitaria María Cano continues to advance educational innovation and curriculum internationalization through academic experiences that enrich student learning. On this occasion, the Software Engineering program within the Faculty of Engineering conducted an Applied Statistics mirror class in collaboration with Universidad del Sinú, promoting collaborative learning and knowledge exchange between both institutions.

The session was led by professors Santander Pérez Vargas and Amaury Ortega C., who guided students through the study of Pareto and Ishikawa diagrams, two widely used tools for data analysis, problem identification, decision-making, and continuous improvement processes in organizational and technological environments.

Mirror classes have become an innovative educational strategy that connects students and faculty from different institutions through digital technologies. These experiences encourage the exchange of knowledge, perspectives, and academic practices, enriching the learning process and strengthening professional competencies required in an increasingly interconnected world.

During the session, students analyzed practical cases, exchanged ideas, and explored the application of these methodologies in engineering, process management, and technology development contexts. The activity promoted active learning and collaborative knowledge construction while fostering communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills.

The experience also contributed to the institution’s internationalization and academic integration efforts by exposing participants to diverse teaching and learning approaches without the need for physical travel.
