The Journal of Research and Innovation in Health Sciences (RIICS), published by Fundación Universitaria María Cano, has reached a new milestone in its scientific consolidation and internationalization process: the journal has been included in Embase, one of the leading international databases specializing in medicine and biomedical sciences, with active coverage beginning in 2026.

This recognition expands the opportunities for international visibility and discoverability of research published in RIICS and represents an important opportunity for authors to have their research findings identified by researchers and healthcare professionals who consult specialized scientific literature worldwide. Embase is a key resource for searching scientific evidence, conducting systematic reviews, pharmacovigilance, and evidence-based research.

The significance of this achievement can be understood through the reach of Embase. The database contains more than 50 million records of biomedical and scientific literature, adds more than 8,500 new records each working day, and includes thousands of active journals from countries around the world. It also provides access to more than 17 million records not available in MEDLINE, significantly expanding access to international biomedical literature.

One of Embase’s distinctive features is Emtree, its specialized life sciences thesaurus, which connects biomedical terms, synonyms, and related concepts to support more precise and comprehensive searches. For RIICS, inclusion in Embase strengthens its presence within international scientific information networks and advances its commitment to providing an increasingly visible, rigorous, and reliable platform for communicating research findings.
