Through the training of professionals specialized in the approach of people with movement disorders of neurological origin, and with a comprehensive perspective from a biopsychosocial projection that enables the understanding of the health-disease process in relation to the field of neurosciences, Fundación Universitaria María Cano aims with the Specialization in Physiotherapy in Neurorehabilitation to respond to the social health needs of the local context jointly international dynamics.

One of the main axes of the Specialization in Physiotherapy in Neurorehabilitation is the applicability study in neurorehabilitation technologies for the physiotherapeutic approach of people based on the best scientific, available, and revitalized evidence through knowledge, devices, instruments and procedures that enable responses to the diversity, challenges and opportunities in health demanded by the area.

In addition, the Physiotherapy specialist in Neurorehabilitation will have the opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary teams in a variety of contexts, both hospital and outpatient or in intervention in the direct environment in which people develop.

The Physiotherapist Specialist in Neurorehabilitation of Fundación Universitaria María Cano University will have the ability to analyze, plan, design and implement therapeutic strategies in relation to neurosciences and human body movement; its maintenance, optimization or potentiation, prevention, and recovery of its alterations; as well as the habilitation and comprehensive rehabilitation of the population. This participation in interdisciplinary teams contributes to the quality of life and social development from the specific field, using the best available and revitalized evidence through knowledge, devices, instruments, and procedures that enable responses to the diversity, challenges and opportunities in health demanded by the area.

The Physiotherapist Specialist in Neurorehabilitation of Fundación Universitaria María Cano will be able to work as a:

· Health care professional who participates in interdisciplinary teams for the Neurorehabilitation area in centers of low, medium, and high level of complexity.

· Neurorehabilitation Physiotherapist in health and rehabilitation institutions in different populations throughout the life cycle.

· Researcher in development projects in health promotion, disease prevention and rehabilitation, both for governmental and non-governmental entities, related to the field of physiotherapy in neurology.

· University professor in higher education institutions that offer undergraduate programs in Physiotherapy and postgraduate programs related to the area of Physiotherapy in Neurorehabilitation.
