- 8 septiembre, 2026
As part of the Speech-Language Pathologist Day celebration, seventh-semester students from the Educational Practice component of the Speech-Language Pathology Program at Fundación Universitaria María Cano, Neiva campus, carried out an integration and awareness-raising event at CEINAR Educational Institution, highlighting the profession’s contribution to communication, learning, and inclusion within educational settings.
The activity was led by the student practitioners under the guidance of faculty advisor Nury Consuelo González Segura, creating a meaningful space for interaction among students, teachers, families, and members of the educational community. The event emphasized the importance of Speech-Language Pathology as a discipline committed to the comprehensive development of children and adolescents.
Throughout the day, participants shared knowledge and experiences related to the promotion of human communication, the prevention and early identification of speech, language, hearing, and swallowing difficulties, as well as strategies that support active participation in educational processes.
One of the most significant moments of the event was the public recognition given by the principal of CEINAR Educational Institution, who highlighted the commitment, dedication, and positive impact that Fundación Universitaria María Cano’s Speech-Language Pathology students have generated over the years, contributing to stronger inclusion, learning opportunities, and student well-being within the school community.
The event also provided an opportunity to reflect on the importance of collaboration among teachers, families, students, and support professionals, recognizing that inclusive educational environments are built through the active participation of all stakeholders involved in children’s development and education.
Beyond commemorating a professional milestone, the gathering reaffirmed the social value of Speech-Language Pathology and its ability to transform lives through communication, listening, support, and community engagement.
Through initiatives such as this, Fundación Universitaria María Cano reaffirms its commitment to educating ethical, socially responsible, and highly qualified professionals capable of leading processes that promote inclusion, learning, and well-being in the communities they serve.
