MANAGEMENT OF RESEARCH INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP

The management of the process of scientific research, technological development and innovation (R + D + i) and business entrepreneurship is developed through a center and two strategic units of shared services.

CENTER OF RESEARCH AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

The Direction of the Center for Research and Business Development-CIDE- is the entity responsible for the management of the System and for facilitating the means for the execution of the Institution’s research activities and the achievement of the expected products, in accordance with the Institutional Educational Project-PEI and the Institutional Strategic Plan.

The CIDE operates according to a functional structure that allows it to adequately develop its management and which is defined by the Research Committee.

The functional structure is formed as follows:

-The Management of the Center depends organically on the Academic Vice-President and operates according to the direction of the research process originated from the Research Committee, the Ethics Committee and, in some cases, from the Faculty Councils.

-As operative and logistical support has support, as a secretary and assistant or support in relation to the ScienTI-COLCIENCIAS platform.

-As academic support has the commission of research leaders from where actions and strategies for the process are generated, with which the work of the research groups is oriented.

-The core of the CIDE are the research groups and the seedbeds. The second ones are assigned to the groups, and these to the academic programs.

-The CIDE also has Strategic Shared Services Units: Innovation and Competitive Referencing Unit – and the Enterprise Entrepreneurship Unit-UEE-

BUSINESS ENTREPRENEURSHIP UNIT

n order to manage the policy and execute the entrepreneurship and innovation program, the executive action will focus on the UNIT OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP (INNOVATIVE ENTERPRISE), attached to the Center for Business Research and Development-CIDE-, which will be the administrative academic unit that will lead everything related to this program and the culture in such field through projects and activities in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation in the institution.

AScope of the entrepreneurship unit

To promote the spirit of entrepreneurship as an attitude and as a life project through awareness-raising and training in entrepreneurial and innovative skills and capacities and a business vision articulated with the different academic programs, in a transversal and disciplinary way, which allows the consolidation of a culture of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship and innovation at the institutional level and conduct research in these fields, including business history.

Objectives of the entrepreneurship unit::

General purpose

«Promote the culture of entrepreneurship as a life project, as well as entrepreneurship and innovation through awareness and training in entrepreneurial skills and abilities, articulated with the different academic programs, in a transversal and disciplinary way, developing initiatives to create favorable conditions for the generation of knowledge, the promotion of spaces that encourage creativity, innovative capacity and economic autonomy for the transformation of human and social capital in the Maria Cano University Foundation».

Specific objectives

  1. Define and permanently update a macro strategy, duly supported that contains the conceptual criteria that make up the essence of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship and innovation in the institution.
  2. Promote and apply the policy guidelines for entrepreneurship and innovation.
  3. Develop initiatives corresponding to the four dimensions of entrepreneurship and innovation in the Institution.

INNOVATION AND COMPETITIVE REFERENCING UNIT
It is a laboratory for the creation of value according to the needs of its internal or external clients, in topics such as:

  • Methodologies for measuring customer service
  • Design of instruments for conducting diagnostic tests on: vocation, entry, selection of teachers, entry / exit competences of students in subjects, selection of administrative and managerial staff, teaching staff
  • Social impact assessment
  • Process risk assessment
  • Characterization of populations or market niches
  • Brand positioning studies Perception studies
  • Estudios de percepción
